Join us as we continue our #WorktheWorks challenge as we clothe the naked and make warm fleece blankets for the homeless! All blankets will be donated to Catholic Charities in Des Plaines Even if you're not crafty or have never made a blanket before, this event is still for you! You'll learn how to easily make a warm, fleece blanket with just a few cuts of the scissors and simple knots to tie the blanket together. To prepare for this event, we're asking each person to supply your own fleece materials to donate. You will need 2 yards of a patterned fleece, and 2 yards of a coordinating pattern or solid color fleece. One two yard piece will be the top of the blanket and the other two yard piece will be the bottom of the blanket. **Please also bring along a scissors with you to cut your fabric. If you have fabric scissors, those work best. Anyone who can bring along extra fabric scissors to share for the evening would be much appreciated!** Check out Joann Fabrics and Hobby Lobby for good sales. Joann currently has many styles on sale in the $5-$8 per yard range. We will have a few snacks to munch on as we create our blankets. Feel free to bring a snack to share. If you're unable to attend but would like to donate fleece for someone else to make a blanket, just let us know!
