The RCIA Intensive Workshop will be held on
Friday/Saturday, September 14-15, 2018 and continue on
Saturday, October 13th. The three workshop days are for RCIA Coordinators and Team members.
The focus of the September weekend will be Part I of the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, nos. 36- 251 in the Rite. This section address the particular Periods and Steps for those who are Catechumens beginning with the Period of Evangelization and Precatechumenate and concluding with the Period of Postbaptismal Catechesis or Mystagogy. For each of the periods of the initiation process, we will look at what the Church envisions for each period, the Liturgical Rites of each period, what should be happening in each period, and who is involved.
The October day will focus on Part II of the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, nos. 252-594. This section deals with Rites for Particular Circumstances such as:
Christian Initiation of Children who have reached catechetical age
Christian Initiation of Adults in exceptional circumstances
Preparation of Uncatechized Adults for Confirmation and Eucharist
The combined rites with the unbaptized, baptized Christians, and baptized, uncatechized Catholics.
WHERE: St. Albert the Great Church, 8000 S. Linder Avenue, Burbank, Illinois. Administration Building on September 14th; the “St. Albert Room” on September 15th and October 13th.
COST: The total cost is $190 for all 3 workshop days. Included in the total cost are lunch and dinner on Saturday, September 15th, and lunch on Saturday, October 13th.
